Tyler Finau, an Enterprise Cars Swim Team member with a swag of national age-group titles and Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay records, will represent New Zealand in Australia.
Finau, 14, is among 35 swimmers selected in a Swimming New Zealand high-performance team to compete in the Australian State Teams Championships in Canberraon October 3, 4 and 5.
In April she won nine titles in the 13-year division at the national age-group championships in Auckland, setting HBPB records in the process.
Finau is the daughter of former Commonwealth Games swimmer Julie McLaughlin and former Ngati Porou East Coast rugby representative Mase Finau.
