Great nail-biting play came down to the last game when Tigers beat Falcons 11-10 in Turanganui a Kiwa Darts Association semifinal action on Friday night.

The Tigers were ahead 9-8 with the fourth and final set to play.

Falcons captain Tahuna Irwin made it 9-9 by defeating Shiloh Henry 3-0.

Tigers' Tracey Te Kira defeated Paul Waihape 3-0 to give her team a 10-9 lead.

But Falcons' Pete Tom defeated Warren Coe 3-1 to bring the teams level again, 10-all.

The pressure was on for the last game of the night, between Tigers captain Willie Edwards and Falcons junior Tamati Irwin. The winner's team would play Rangatahi in the final.

Irwin wasn't making it easy for Edwards, and took one of the legs with a 96 finish.

You could hear a pin drop as the drama unfolded. Irwin was there, waiting to peg out, but Edwards threw some amazing darts and pegged the decisive double to secure Tigers a place in the finals, 11-10.
