Gooch said Michie had a passion for helping kids.
“He helped them grow and better their driving skills, and that was proved at our second meeting of the season on Sunday, when 12-year-old Seth Iremonger took three more wins to be six from six so far this season in the junior restricted class.
“Cooper Allen picked up two seconds, while Koby Gooch grabbed the other second placing.”
Iremonger also drove in the junior KT 12-to-17-year-old class and had a win.
“Seth is a promising young talent and one to watch,” Gooch said.
“Jay Prosser drove well in the rookies (five-to-eight-year-olds) for his first win, while Brodie Gooch bagged the next two victories.”
The hard-fought rotax class again did not disappoint.
“Lance Sutherland worked the loud pedal nicely to claim two wins and a fourth, and ever-consistent Paul Farmer grabbed the third win.
“Aimee Whiteman had the drive of the day in the KT100 women’s class. She had two wins and a second. Dana Kingsbeer kept it clean to pick up her first win.”
Gooch said the KT100 heavies had a good field of nine karts.
“Jacob Moorcroft battled through for a couple of wins before mechanical issues stopped him in the last race.
“The hard-charging Vinnie MacGregor bagged three more wins, with Callum Kemp and Layton Rogers chasing hard.”
The KT100 lights had some great racing, with three different winners.
“Ethan Rogers was the pick of the bunch with first, second and third placings. Alex Rosie and Lachlan Vause took the chequered flag as well.”
The club will be at the track again on Sunday, with racing from 10am.
