GYMNASTICS

MEDALS and qualification scores were the prizes for Gisborne Gymnastics Club members taking part in the Hastings Gymnastics Club Competition this month.

In Step 1, Caitlyn Murphy and Alia Sims posted their first qualifying scores towards Step 2.

In Step 2 girls, Haley Rolls was second overall in the eight-years-and-under division. She won vault and floor, and placed third on uneven bars and fourth on beam.

Capria Tamatea placed third overall in the nine-years-and-over division. She was third on beam, fourth on floor and fifth on uneven bars.

Georgiana Elmer placed sixth overall and her best apparatus was vault, where she placed equal seventh.

Celena Bull gave herself a nice birthday present, placing seventh overall and posting a qualifying score towards Step 3. Her best apparatus was vault, where she placed equal fourth.

Kayaar Wimutu-Muir placed second on vault.

Gisborne Team 1 (Haley Rolls, Capria Tamatea, Georgiana Elmer and Bethan Winchester) won silver in the Step 2 team event.

Lily Rolls stepped up on to the podium for the first time this season, winning bronze in the Step 3 overall event. She was fourth on uneven bars and floor, and sixth on beam.

Isabel Arthur was equal second on uneven bars and seventh overall.

Caitlin Winchester recorded her first qualifying score towards Step 4 and her best apparatus was beam, where she placed fifth.

Lily Rolls, Isabel Arthur and Caitlin Winchester were second in Step 3 teams.

Reilly McKay was third overall in her first Step 4 competition. She was third on floor, equal fourth on beam, and sixth on vault.

Danielle Blair was equal fourth on uneven bars.
