It was important that New Zealand's rugby clubs — almost 500 of them — were strong and welcoming, with facilities that inspired pride among players and communities.
“This is fundamental to creating healthy competitions, keeping the game strong and fulfilling the needs of those involved,” Lancaster said.
Applications for the programme must include an explanation, in up to 400 words, of why the club needs the products and materials to upgrade facilities, an overview of the project, and a breakdown of key timings. A video or photos demonstrating the need for upgrades is also required.
Clubs have until 11:59pm on Monday to get their entries in. They can be completed at bunnings.nzrugby.co.nz.
