NETBALL

THE Noogies men’s netball team last night kept their unbeaten record intact to advance to the men’s final as round-robin winners.

They will play Uawa, who beat The Joops at the YMCA last night, to decide the men’s netball title.

The final will be held at the YMCA on Thursday next week.

Uawa beat The Joops 41-19 last night to finish the round robin in second place.

The Noogies defeated another of the form teams, Big M, 39-27 to record their fifth win from five games.

BDPC beat LHS 32-25 last night.

“That game was evenly contested and virtually went goal for goal,” netball commentator Sherrill Beale said.

“BDPC slowly edged ahead in the final five minutes.”

On Thursday next week, apart from the final, Big M will play BDPC to decide third and fourth, and LHS will play The Joops for the final two spots.

The Noogies named themselves after the nicknames Ma’a Nonu and Conrad Smith gave themselves at the Hurricanes.

A member of the Noogies team, a keen Hurricanes fan, came up with the name.
