OBR senior bowler Matt Cook said the teams would be eyeing up a place in the final.
“It's a big weekend for us.”
After a tremendous performance last weekend, Horouta, the third team in the A grade, have the most competition points, but the overall picture will be much clearer after this weekend.
OBR have hardly got on the park this year and, after the double-header, it will be clear to them what they need to do to make the final and perhaps even be the top qualifier.
HSOB, who have a bye next weekend, need to get the job done now.
They will want to establish a large enough lead that will put them beyond the reach of both OBR and Horouta, enabling them to qualify top.
HSOB will be smarting from getting a tune-up from Horouta last Saturday.
Cook said he expected HSOB would be keen to get back into winning form and his own team had a points victory over Horouta in their last outing.
Shaw said his team needed a huge improvement in the batting department.
An uninspired first innings put them on the back foot against Horouta and they will need to be plucky against the pace of Cody Andrews and concentrate when the other bowlers are in action.
“If we bowl and field like we have been, we will put ourselves in a great position,” Shaw said.
OBR have been forced into line-up changes.
Paul Stewart, Jack Faulkner and Travis Mitchell have departed for tertiary study and opening bowler Jimmy Holden is unavailable this weekend.
The two teams have different conditions to contend with on the two days, as they're scheduled to play on the rep wicket on Saturday and on the No.2 field on Sunday.
The rep wicket has been flat this season and bowlers have to work hard to get much out of it.
A lot of wickets have fallen on the No.2 ground in recent weeks, but the batsmen showed last week that runs can be scored quickly there if they bat positively.
Both the weekend's games are due to start at 1pm.
