Daniel Taylor is Eastland Kart Club’s senior champion for 2025.

He earned the title by winning the final of a series of races designed to whittle down the field to eight drivers racing over 10 laps at the club’s Awapuni track on Sunday.

Harley Davis was runner-up and Dion Lund was third.

Davis recorded the fastest lap of the day — 23.357 seconds — while Barry Irvine passed more karts than anyone else.

Mark Vizi Toroa was judged to have made the best pass of the day.

Kolten Irvine was named kids’ driver of the day while Evan Mooney was adult driver of the day.

Drivers each had four races in mixed groups, their starting positions decided by a marble draw.

Competitors were divided into rookies, juniors and adults, and a good-sized sized crowd watched the action.
