Eastland had a win and a loss in the final rounds of the 2019 inter-association super veterans’ Division 2 badminton competition in Auckland.

They lost to Auckland (2) 5 matches to 4 and beat Hawke’s Bay 6-3.

Eastland team members were Kevin Lee (Gisborne Badminton Club), Ron Prebble, Kevin Taylor, Linda White, Annabelle Riwaka, Ruth Ledger (Patutahi club), Matheus Batlajeri (on loan from Manawatu) and Lee Ingram (on loan from Auckland).

The competition included the top four teams from Group A of Division 2 playing against the teams from Group B.

As Eastland were placed third in Group B they had to play the fourth-placed team from Group A — Auckland (2). They would then have to play the winners or losers of the playoff between Waikato (third in Group A) and Hawke’s Bay (fourth in Group B).
