Get ready for fast-paced rugby action at the Rectory again.

Gisborne Boys’ High School is hosting the Super 8 Schools’ seven-a-side tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

On Rectory ground No 1 from 10.15am, the under-18 competition will feature Gisborne, Rotorua, Tauranga and Napier in Pool B, and Hamilton, Palmerston North, New Plymouth and Hastings in Pool A.

The competition will kick off with Hamilton versus New Plymouth and the last game on day one at 2.50pm pits Rotorua against Napier.

Gisborne plays Rotorua at 11.05am, Napier at 1.10pm and Tauranga at 2.25pm.

Day two starts at 9.45am with the third-placed team in Pool A playing the fourth-placed team in Pool B, and from there the play-offs will commence at 11.55am with 1 v 2, the final, at 2.30pm.

A Year 9-10 Super 8 sevens tournament is also being held on Rectory No 2 over the two days.

Pool A features Hamilton, Palmerston North, Tauranga and Gisborne while Pool B comprises Rotorua, New Plymouth, Hastings and Napier.

The home team has clashes with Palmerston North at 10.25am, Tauranga at 12.05pm and Hamilton at 1.45pm.

Day two kicks off at 9.30am, with play-offs from 11.30am and the final at 2pm.
