Yates scored a headed goal from Destounis’s cross in the 60th minute for a 3-1 lead.
Destounis then headed in midfielder Jimmy Holden’s cross in the 75th minute to make it 4-1.
Boys’ High central midfielder Brad Clark scored his side’s seond goal, taking the ball from his own half and playing a one-two with a teammate before bursting into the penalty area and slotting it home from about 10m.
Glassford, not long after the kick-off from Clark’s goal, completed the scoring when he was on hand to capitalise on a ricochet in the penalty area after Holden had cut the ball across.
Cranswick said senior players Craig Christophers, Jonathan Purcell and Aaron Graham played a big part in the team’s success.
Christophers took training sessions when Cranswick could not be there and his influence as captain was considerable.
United’s main rivals for the title were Carpet Court Thistle Massive.
Before the weekend, they had two games to play, to United’s one, and were four points behind.
