Christie to take on HawaiiansGisborne-Mahia surfer Ricardo Christie’s Round 3 opponents have been confirmed at the Vans World Cup Qualifying Series contest in Hawaii.

Christie, who is sitting seventh on the QS rankings, and French Polynesia’s Michel Bourez, ninth on the Championship Tour, were seeded straight to the third round.

They have been joined by two Hawaiians — Joshua Moniz and Michael O’Shaughnessy.

The four will contest Heat 13 of the round.

The World Cup, a QS 10,000-point event, features a good number of CT surfers and is also the second event of the Triple Crown of Surfing, which is led by Australian Joel Parkinson after his win in the Hawaiian Pro.
