Gisborne Speedway Club has had to postpone the special 50th anniversary meeting it had planned for tomorrow night, due to clashes with meetings at other tracks.
The club started operations from its Awapuni Road site on January 2, 1971.
“We had planned to have a big field of superstocks ontomorrow night’s programme, along with a full support programme,” club president Clyde McGrory said.
However, wet weather over the New Year holiday period forced some clubs to postpone their meetings until this week.
“That’s cost us in terms of cars coming here,” McGrory said.
