The two women’s games tonight to open the round also have a lot going for them.
GMC Green play Ben Holden Fencing Ngatapa at 6pm and GMC Kowhai and Paikea meet at 7.30pm.
“Ngatapa know they will be up against a Green Machine who were pushed hard by Paikea last weekend,” Scragg said.
“The Ngatapa girls will try to do the same and if they can rattle them a bit, anything is possible.”
Scragg feels the Kowhai clash with Paikea will be tight.
“It will be the women’s game of the round,” he said.
“Paikea are in good form, and a top three finish is up for grabs for either side.”
The second Friday night fixture pits Lytton Old Boys A against Gisborne Boys’ High School at 7.30pm.
“I would expect LOB A to win in a fairly one-sided affair,” Scragg said.
The three Saturday games could all be pretty tight.
Te Aowera play YMP B at 1pm.
“YMP would be favourites but Te Aowera will go hard for their first win of the season,” Scragg said.
Gisborne Girls’ High School and Emerre and Hathaway GMC Gold play at 2.45pm.
“The way Girls’ High have played recently, you would have to back them to win, and win well,” Scragg said.
The round concludes with the LOB Masters in action against YMP B at 4.30pm.
“The Masters will fancy their chances,” Scragg said.
“They have had a win and a draw against YMP B this season in fairly tight results.
“It’s always a good clash between these two teams.”
