A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

Gisborne riders made the most of their home-ground advantage at the Larsen Sawmilling Gisborne Showjumping Championships.

Fraser Tombleson and his homebred mare Mea I were the stars of the Bayleys Real Estate Premier League with a stunning double clear. Tess Clark and Sinatra II placed fourth in the class. Clark also won the 1.25-metre classic and open horse 1.2m on Rick Shanks’s Cadbury.

Sinead Dolman had a great show, and picked up a sixth in the Dunstan Horsefeeds & EquiFibre Junior Rider with Equitation class on Kiwi Lansing. She also picked up many other ribbons.

Merran Hain shone in the show hunter classes and did well in the showjumping, too. She and Untouchable were fourth in the Caledonian Holdings Amateur Rider Series, with Jenny Randall and Nero Bello sixth.

Holly Baines had a brilliant show and headed home with plenty of ribbons. Others to do well included Amelia Paull, Lucy Win-Hewetson, Oliver and Isobel Jayne Bevitt, Jessica McCann, Lily Beaufoy, Ella Rouse and Rosie Mottart.
