Boys’ High beat YMP B 3-2.
“A goal at the end to Lachie Falloon sealed it for Boys’ High, and they deserved to win,” Scragg said.
“Their short-passing game gave them the edge.”
Lytton Old Boys Masters beat clubmates LOB NZ Fruits 4-3 in a tight contest.
“The score went back and forth but the consistent David Preddey scored a hat-trick and made the difference for the Masters.”
THC recovered some dignity in their 6-3 loss to YMP A — last time they met it was 8-0 — but the defending champs were again too classy for them.
“YMP led 6-1 going into the final quarter but THC showed determination in the final period to regain some respectability,” Scragg said
The other matches went the way of the form book.
GMC Green maintained their momentum with a 7-0 win against GMC Kowhai. Maika Akroyd, Kelsey Teneti and Amy Angland each scored two goals.
“GMC Green always had the match under control and have maintained their position alongside YMP A at the top of the women’s table,” Scragg said.
JNL Paikea, with two goals each to Amber Church and Kate Muir, had a comfortable 4-0 win against YMP B.
“YMP mounted a gutsy defensive effort,” Scragg said.
“The win puts Paikea level on points with fourth-placed Ngatapa.
“However, Ben Holden Fencing Ngatapa are just ahead of them on goal difference, so Paikea are in fifth place.”
In the final match of the programme, YMP A were merciless as they beat Roseland Tavern Te Aowera 23-0.
