TEN teams from across the East Coast took the courts for the Ngati Porou Netball Tournament last weekend.
Teams travelled from as far away as Whangaparaoa and Uawa to the Ruatoria courts for a series of mixed and senior women's netball.
Community connector Rawinia Parata said the tournament was ademonstration of the connectedness of communities along the East Coast.
“The netball tournament represents enthusiasm beyond the sport and into the realms of community aspirations and our collective willingness to action them.”
Parata said they would take up any and all opportunities allowing them to engage their families, their rangatahi, their women and their men.
