GISBORNE road sidecar racing duo Bryce Rickard and Callum Innes finished a creditable fourth overall in their first outing in the F1 sidecar class in the Suzuki international series and were thrilled with it.

The third round of the series was contested on Boxing Day on the cemetery circuit in Whanganui.

The pairing had a fifth and a sixth in the final two races, racing against F1 and F2 class bikes.

The first round of the series was held in Taupo and the second round at Manfeild near Feilding.

“Bryce and I are super happy with making the top 10, let alone finishing fourth overall,” Innes said.

There were 24 combinations in the international series, and bikes from Australia and France.

“Not bad for a race team who got told by some people they didn't belong in the series when they started,” Innes said.

“Now we are known as the Gizzy Boyz.”

Innes said they were grateful for the work Phill Law put into setting up their bike, and to their other sponsors and supporters.
