TRIATHLON

THE slickest year yet — that was the verdict from Sport Gisborne Tairawhiti young persons lead Phil Robinson on the organisation for the primary inter-school triathlon this month.

Mangapapa finished top of the points table for the day, on 31.

The other schools scoring points were: Makauri and Wainui, both 18; Central, 11; Kaiti, Makaraka and Ormond, 10; Waerenga o Kuri, 5; Motu, Matawai and Te Wharau, 3.

In a message to the schools, Robinson — retiring from his position this year — congratulated the “awesome” competitors and thanked team managers.
