Premier netball: Gisborne Girls' High seek repeat

Gisborne Girls' High School will look to repeat their Round 1 victory over Whangara in the second of two premier netball matches at the YMCA tonight.

The 7.30pm Pak'nSave premier division clash between Gillies Electrical Girls' High Senior A and Whangara Old Girls promises to be competitive.

The students last week recorded their first win in Round 2 and their confidence in each other's play is growing.

That was demonstrated in last Wednesday's win as they withstood Horouta Gold's pressure in the final quarter.

On the other hand, Whangara's understanding between players has been developing and they have given glimpses of their speedy play through court.

It should be a competitive game tonight and both teams' supporters will be out in force.

In the 6pm match, undefeated YMP (1) go up against JT Contractors Horouta Gold.

YMP have been displaying good team play on attack and defence and have been moving the ball speedily through the court.

Horouta Gold have been competitive in all of their games, but have yet to record a win in this round.

They will need to bring their top game tonight to compete with an in-form YMP side.
