Poverty Bay Cricket Association has announced logistical guidelines ahead of this weekend as the threat of Omicron remains in the community.
In a statement, the association said the decision was made with “significant consideration” for player wellbeing.
“These are not ordinary times that we are operating under, and it is
important that all of the community understand our desire for cricket to be played, but widen this understanding to the fact that at times this may not be possible, either for an individual game, a competition, or across the region,” the statement said.
“Physical activity and organised sport are crucial to personal wellbeing and, as such, every effort will be made to ensure that opportunities for the playing of cricket will continue.”
