Gisborne production saloon racer Lloyd Stuart (34G) recorded his best finish at a national level when he finished third in the North Island Production Saloon Car Championship at the Huntly Speedway at the weekend.
Stuart went from third position on the starting grid in the 20-lap final, got into second
at one stage, but slipped back in the closing stages to third.
He finished behind winner Grant Loveridge from Rotorua and Vaughan Glidden from Huntly.
“It feels really good to make that podium,” he said. “I feel proud as much as anything, especially to do it in a car that I have built myself. I’m now looking forward to the New Zealand titles in Cromwell in the South Island in February.”
