A PLANNED move to Waerenga o Kuri by Gisborne Pistol Club will not go ahead. Instead the club wants to go back to its Gaddums Hill site, where there have been complaints from neighbours about noise.
Gisborne District Council previously agreed to contribute $15,000 towards the cost of the clubmoving to the Waerenga o Kuri soil conservation reserve.
Council environmental services and protection director Nick Zaman told the council a judicial review sought by neighbours had gone against the decision to move to Waerenga o Kuri and the club had recently decided to cancel its resource consent to go there.
It was now going to be moved back to the Gaddum’s Hill consent.
That was also subject to a review and the pistol club and submitters to the review had been notified of that. The necessary information was being collated towards a hearing.
