Roseanne Taiapa sank a 6-iron tee shot on the 110-metre 14th hole of her home Electrinet Park course a week ago Sunday.

She was the only one of her playing group to see it go in — Park clubmates Wiki Morrissey and Tai Aramakutu were busy marking their cards — although a few in the nearby carpark witnessed the achievement.

Her reaction was simple. She turned to the others and said “hole-in-one”.

The buzz from this one was equal to the three others she has had — her first on the same hole, her second at Opotiki Golf Club and her third on the second at the Park while playing with husband Anzac.

The late “Zac”, however, still holds an advantage over Roseanne. He had seven aces over his golfing career. Roseanne's latest “1” helped her to an excellent round of 80-16-64, easily her best score since returning to the Park fairways in May of last year after a break of over five years.

Roseanne was enticed back into the game by her moko during Covid Alert Level 2 and had another stint off the course between March and July this year.

She said she had really only got back on the course three weeks ago.
