INDOOR BOWLS

GISBORNE Senior Citizens Indoor Bowling Championships produced some outstanding bowls.

Organiser Bruce Easton said competitors played to a high standard, although the number of entrants was down on previous years.

Alain Jorion was the winner and Rose Raggett was runner-up in the singles, which drew an 11-strong field.

Jorion combined with Arnold Hutchins (skip) to win the pairs.

Hutchins (skip), Cording, Paddy Malcolm and Roy Selby won the fours. Raggett completed a set of runner-up finishes, skipping the team of Bruce Easton, Des Malcolm and Kathy Coates to second place in a field of three teams.
