The Poverty Bay boys’ primary team opened their campaign at the nine-a-side Northern Districts cricket tournament in Cambridge with a six-wicket loss to the ND Invitation team.
The Bay were dismissed for 60 in 15.5 overs of the 40-over match. Dylan Torrie struck five fours in his innings of 33off 43 balls.
The Invitation team reached 62-2 in 6.3 overs, Poverty Bay seamers John Broad and Connor Starck taking a wicket each.
