Surf lifesaving veteran Michelle Mitchell has been named as one of three selectors of New Zealand teams for international competition and also of development squads over 2019 and 2020.
Kaiaponi Farms Waikanae stalwart Mitchell joins Julia Mercer from Sumner and John Creighton from South Brighton in the South Island.
“It’shumbling to have been appointed to this role,” Mitchell said.
“I have been very lucky to have had Cory Hutchings as a mentor at Waikanae for the past seven or eight years.”
She is excited about the work ahead, and will help select open, development and youth squads, along with various New Zealand teams competing in international events, including the Sanyo Cup, the International Surf Rescue Challenge and Lifesaving World Championships.
