Scragg expects THC to be too strong for Boys’ High in the other game.
“THC have to stay in touch with YMP and will be determined to do that by achieving a good result over Boys’ High.
“Boys’ High have been improving but it remains to be seen what impact the school holidays will have on their line-up tonight.”
The women own the turf tomorrow night, with JNL Paikea and YMP A playing at 6pm.
“YMP should stay undefeated and then some,” Scragg said.
“I would expect a higher-end score. It might not make double figures, and Paikea could also score, but certainly YMP are heavily favoured to win well.”
Then at 7.30pm, Ben Holden Fencing Ngatapa will play GMC Green.
“Green go in as favourites but Ngatapa have produced outstanding defence in recent games,” Ngatapa coach Scragg said.
Last weekend they held top women’s team YMP A to a 4-0 win.
“Good communication is the key to our defensive pattern and that is a credit to the girls and their ability to play together,” Scragg said.
“I hope to see that continue tomorrow night.”
Saturday’s three matches start at 1pm when Williams Transport Gisborne Girls’ High School play YMP B.
“That should be a nice close game,” Scragg said.
“Both sides have had some good wins in recent weeks.
“It could be a nail-biter and go right to the wire.”
At 2.45pm, Te Aowera meet GMC Gold.
“This could be a similar sort of game to the one before it if TA can turn up with enough players to make a game.
“I certainly hope so. It leaves a hole in the competition when sides have to default, as TA did last weekend.”
The round ends on Saturday with the 4.30pm game between YMP B and LOB NZ Fruits in the men’s competition.
“That will be a close one too,” Scragg said.
“YMP B pushed THC last weekend and the LOB are coming off a big hammering.
“If LOB can get 11 players on the field, they could make a game of it.
“If that happens, I reckon it will either be a draw or a one-goal win.”
