Kennels will mark their first year in the Turanganui-a-Kiwa Darts Association league by playing Tigers in the competition final.

A 10-7 semifinal win against Ruahine on Thursday night secured their place in the decider.

Kennels captain Chris Stevens had his team practising most of the afternoon in preparation for the evening’s contest.

Ruahine captain Mihi Awatere — not new to this type of pressure — led a spirited effort from her team, who played well throughout the evening, but Kennels took the honours.
