The Kathleen Henderson Memorial netball tournament this Saturday has attracted 19 women’s teams and two mens teams.
“It will be great to have a bit of an exhibition match between the men’s teams,” Gisborne Netball Centre manager Allisa Hall said.
“One is made up mainly of East Coast players andthe other is a team of men who play in the beach netball and twilight competitions.”
Hall said the number of women’s teams was lower than in other years . . . last year 28 teams took part.
“We were aware we were clashing with the Relay for Life and that has affected it, and unfortunately the Whakatane teams who normally compete could not make it this year.”
