“THIS is our happy place” was one description of Eastland Kart Club's fun meeting on Sunday.

Te Aroha Dirt Kart Club brothers Chris and Shane Grey would vouch for that after bringing over machines they built themselves.

Racing in the rotax class on Eastland's Aerodrome Road track, Chris recorded three second placings and Shane a second.

Shanan Gooch led the way with three firsts and Paul Farmer had the other win.

Koby Gooch had two wins in the mixed class.

Graeson Wells gets better each time on the track and will be one to watch as he develops. He had his first win and Hamish Worsnop picked up another win.

It was Spring Thomson's day in the KTs class. He enjoyed three wins and a second while Toby White had a second and a third and Daniel Taylor a second and two thirds.

Koby Gooch had a great win in the KTs and Wells also went into this class later in the day abd earned himself a second.

The last race of the day combined rotax and KTs.

Farmer won, with Chris Grey second, Shanan Gooch third and Thomson the first KTs driver across the line in fourth.

Conor White went well driving a rotax for the first time.

Drivers enjoyed a great day of competition and are looking forward to the next meeting — a non-points one — on Sunday, January 19.

Racing starts at 10am and the public are welcome to head down to catch the action for free.
