“Both teams lost last week so they will be keen to win tonight.
“It will be a very competitive game and I expect the YMCA will be packed.”
Lytton coach Ronnie Martin is expecting a good game.
“I think it could almost be goal-for-goal between two evenly-matched sides.
“Both teams fire up every time they play each other.
“I am hoping the Lytton girls can reverse the result from last time they played.”
Girls’ High coach Irene Takao will want her girls to carry on from where they left off so strongly against Whangara last week.
The school duel will be followed by a 7.30pm game between, Whangara Old Girls and Claydens Waikohu (1).
“Whangara won by 11 in grading but Waikohu have shown improvement since then,” Beale said.
“However, Waikohu will need to bring their top game for the full hour if they are to take this one.
“Whangara have been working well as a team.”
Whangara coach Martin said she was happy with her team’s progress.
“But I do not want a repeat of last week’s effort against Girls’ High, where we won but they outscored us in the final quarter. I am looking for consistency.
“While Waikohu are still working themselves out, I’m hoping we can pull out a win.”
Waikohu coach Cheryl Te Rito said she expected her girls would put their best foot forward.
“We can only do what we can do,” she said. “If we can just minimise or clean up our own errors, it should be a fairly good game.”
Te Rito expected to have a full team for tonight’s game.
