HOROUTA face a monumental challenge tomorrow night when they front up to the dangerously in-form YMP 1 in a mid-week premier-grade netball game in the Gisborne YMCA.

The 6pm Pak'nSave premier clash between the two teams promises to be entertaining.

JT Contracting Horouta Gold have improved as the season has progressed and gave a good display of working as a team last week when they ground down Whangara Old Girls and ran out 49-41 winners.

Their committed and improved defence in that game was the benchmark for their success. They disrupted Whangara's flow, creating turnovers.

But Horouta Gold will need to step up further for this game as YMP are playing slick netball and have strength in all areas of the court.

YMP go into the game unbeaten and deservedly top of the grade.

Horouta Gold have had two wins and a bonus point loss and sit in third place on the table.

The 7.30pm match-up between F45 HSOG and Whangara also promises to be entertaining with the sides fairly evenly matched based on previous performances.

Both have given glimpses of good passages of play but are still trying to find consistency for the full hour.

Whangara have won on both occasions these two have met this year.

A close contest can be expected this time round as either side will have targeted this game as one to win.

They sit in the middle of the premier grade table and a win will significantly help their top-four aspirations.
