GISBORNE golfer Tini Hawea continued his improvement to move up the leaderboard on the final day of the New Zealand age-group championships on Hastings’ Bridge Pa course on Friday.
Hawea added 4-over 76 to his 78, 77 for a three-round total of 231. It put him in a five-way tiefor 39th.
The 54-hole strokeplay tournament was won by Hawke’s Bay player Mako Thompson (Maraenui) on 3-under 213 (72, 70, 71), two strokes ahead of Miya Hiroki (Russley) and Jake Lee (Muriwai).
