Late Comers took the honours by defeating Ngati Rangi and won the prestigious log of wood on the final night of the BIZminton3 Competition held at the Badminton Centre.

The competition — held over five weeks — involved 14 teams from local firms, schools, volunteer and sport groups, work skills programmes and friends.

Shanan Gray on receiving the trophy noted that he started playing in the Mercantile League at least six years ago and always wanted to receive the trophy — 2018 is the year. He thanked the organisers Linda White and the Perano family for a wonderfully run tournament.

Badminton Eastland are delighted with the competition and will be running BIZminton4 starting Wednesday, August 1 for five weeks.
