PERSONAL bests are to be a regular occurrence for teenager Jessica Hayward as her fledgling golf career progresses.

The latest came on Sunday — a PB low round on her home course at the Taste One/First Light Frozen Christmas Hams Tournament.

Hayward won the women's overall stableford with 104-40-64, for 46 points.

It highlighted a day of scorching rounds, with 20 players posting 40 or more points.

Hayward's effort was the best and she was followed by overall men's winner Lee Pollitt (45pts), with Poverty Bay clubmate Bill Allen and Gisborne Park's Derek “Red” Craven posting 44 and Alan Baldwin 43, including a 27-point front nine of 39 off his 24 handicap.

Tene Goldsmith found top form a day too early. The 72-year-old shot 1-over 73-7-66, for 42 points, to win the division 1 men's stableford on Saturday.
