Leah Scholefield, one of those who qualified for the nationals on both tramp and double mini, will travel to Christchurch in two weeks to try to qualify for the Australian nationals on tramp.
“Leah is not far off qualifying for Australia,” Callahan said.
“One of the most pleasing aspects of the champs in Rotorua was the way our younger trampolinists performed.
“Riker Rolls has worked hard on his form and was rewarded with gold on tramp and silver on double mini in the 10-and-under age group.
“Mia Blot-Mouterde, in the same age group, got gold on double mini and silver on tramp. Her form was fantastic, we just need to improve her degree of difficulty.”
“James van Aswegen took a year off trampolining but showed he has not lost any of his form. In the division for 13-and-14-year-olds, he took silver on tramp and bronze on double mini.
“Like Mia, James needs to improve his degree of difficulty.
“Raine Lamont-Milner is another one to keep an eye on. He won gold on double mini and silver on tramp.”
Callahan said coach Natalya Barber was “well on her way to passing her coaching exams”.
“Natalya’s doing really well.”
