Three titles came the way of Gisborne Speedway club drivers and riders last night at championship meetings in Hawke’s Bay and Palmerston North in the saloons, sidecars and streetstocks.

Sidecar racers Rob Miller and “Red” George (8G) won the East Coast championship last night at the Meeanee track in Hawke’s Bay.

“Rob and Red raced very well in tough conditions and won their title well,” said Gisborne club president Grant MacGregor, who was trackside.

Saloon car racer Daniel Cook (77G) took out the East Coast saloon championship at Meeanee last night, too.

“Daniel raced right on the pace all night and thoroughly deserved to be on top of the podium,” MacGregor said.

His brother Ethan (76G) finished in third place.

Streetstock racer Cody Gooch won the Manawatu streetstock championship last night at the Palmerston North speedway.

Gisborne cars will be in action again tonight at Meeanee in the production saloons, streetstocks, and youth ministocks.
