GYMNASTICS

This weekend Gisborne gymnasts enjoyed a wonderfully successful time competing at Mt Tauhara, Taupo.

The weekend’s positive results came hot on the heels of recent strong results in competition two weeks ago in Palmerston North, when Lizelle Duckworth won fifth place on vault, third place on beam, and first on floor.

The team were all smiles after their Tauhara competition, where Step 1 girls took home first place as a team, scoring a combined total of 164.45. Members of the team included Monroe Brouwer, Catalina Camero, and India Gill.

Monroe Brouwer took home third place on beam, and third on uneven bars.

Catalina Camero came in first place on vault, fifth on bars, and fourth on floor.

Both Catalina Camero and Monroe Brouwer came in co-equal overall with a second place finish.

Hollie Walsh won fifth place on vault and fourth place on floor.

Lea O’Reilly won second place on bars.

Zeva Kinnaird won fifth place on beam.

India Gill won first place on vault, fourth place on bars, second place on beam, and first on floor. India took first place overall.

Step 3 girls took home a strong second place showing as a team, scoring a total of 162.100. Members of the team included Capria Tamatea, Celena Bull, Haley Rolls, and Aria Thorpe.

Capria Tamatea won third on bars, third on beam, second on floor and took third place overall.

Celena Bull won fifth place on vault, fifth place on bars, fourth place on beam, fourth on floor and was fourth overall.

Ahenata Cotter-Luke won second place on beam.

Haley Rolls won third place on vault, second place on bars, fourth place on beam, third place on floor and took first place overall.

Aria Thorpe won fifth place on vault, second on beam, first on floor and was third overall.

Step 4 team took home first place with a combined score of 156.200. Members of the team included Hinerauiri Cotter-Luke, Lily Rolls, Danielle Blair, and Miriam Cornfeld.

Lily Rolls won second on bars, third on beam, second on floor, and was third overall.

Hinerauiri Cotter-Luke won fourth on beam and fourth on floor.

Danielle Blair won second on vault, and fifth on floor.

In Step 5 Sarah Hawkins won third place on vault, third on bars, fourth on beam, third on floor, and was fifth overall.

Georgia Hamblyn won fifth on vault, fourth on bars, second on beam, third on floor, and took second overall.

In Step 6 Sarai Gudgeon won second on floor, second on bars, second on beam, third on floor, and was third overall.
