CyclingGisborne Cycling Club events — visitors and new cyclists welcome.

Saturday — Club ride (no racing) from the Taruheru Cemetery in Nelson Road, starting at 1.30pm. Most rides are 90 minutes to three hours long and at a comfortable pace for all.

Sunday — Group ride at 8am from Avantiplus Maintrax. This is a friendly group ride for anyone wanting to ride with others. Approximate pace will be 25kmh.

Running/WalkingGisborne Harrier Club event

Sunday — Gizzy Trail Run No.5. Eastwoodhill Arboretum. Registration: 9.15am. Start: 10am. Dress in red to show support for the Heart Foundation. Bake sale and donation buckets available. All money raised will go to Gisborne Heart Foundation. Short, medium, and long courses — all welcome. Harrier club members: free entry. Adult/youth casual: $15/$5. Under-7s: free. The Eastwoodhill Arboretum cafe will be open for filtered coffee, sausage sizzle and cafe food. Take a keep-cup — this is a waste-free event.

NetballPAK’nSAVE Gisborne Netball, Saturday

Senior finals. Senior prize-giving to follow as soon as possible after completion of the 10.30am round at Gisborne Netball Centre pavilion.

Premier prize-giving to follow the completion of the premier final at the YMCA.

All games are 4 x 10-minute quarters.
