Gisborne ParkROD Moore completed step one of his club championship mission at the weekend — top qualifying.

Moore impressively handled the windy conditions on Saturday to post 2-over 74 and earn the No.1 seeding in the senior division.

He was two shots ahead of Brad Reynolds and both advanced straight to the semifinals.

Had Danny Boyle entered the senior division he would have qualified third. His 80 instead earned him the top seeding in the intermediate division, four clear of Steve Phillips.

Barry Cox’s 87 led the junior qualifying by one shot from Paul Wellard and Chris Palmer.
