THE Mary Clinton Cup secondary schoolgirls’ hockey tournament on the LJ Hooker Turf at Harry Barker Reserve proved a tough day for the two Gisborne teams competing.

Gisborne Girls’ High were beaten 18-0 by Freyberg High, who did not concede a goal in their first three games, then lost 10-0 to Mt Maunganui.

Campion College lost 7-0 to Ormiston Senior College. It meant both Gisborne sides finished fourth in their pools. They were to face each other today in positional playoffs.
