The Gisborne Giants Superstock team finished runnersup in the Superstock Teams Nationals at the Waikaraka Park speedway in Auckland at the weekend.

They disposed of the Bay Park Buster 165 points to 30 in their first hit out, and then beat the Whanganui Warriors 130-65 to make the final.

The Giants came up against the KihiKihi Kings in the final, where it was very much a family affair with Asher Rees (1NZ) leading the Kings, and his dad Peter (10G) and brother Ethan (3NZ) in the Giants.

Kihikihi won the hard-fought final.

The other drivers in the Giants team were 9G Jamie Hamilton, 29G James Clarke, 144G Tim Ross and the sixth driver was Tom Cooper.
