Eastland Kart Club organisers seem to have hit on a winning formula.

The club’s second annual Anzac Champs meeting, being held at the Aerodrome Road track from 10am tomorrow, has attracted 11 out-of-town drivers from as far away as Northland.

Drivers will take their karts on to the track one at a time to do a flying lap. The fastest karts go into the A main.

Karts will also be assigned to the B main and C main.

Each main will have a few races and then the top two karts from the C main go to the back of the B main.

The top four from the B main go to the back of the A main final. The winner of this will be the Anzac champion.

Most of the visiting drivers are from Hamilton and Tauranga and race at Te Aroha and Waihi dirt tracks, but Spring Thomson is coming from Northland.

Other out-of-town drivers are Brent Nolan, Ange Dent, Craig Hunter, Peter Rose, Doug Cornes, Adam Mayor, Kevin Bull, Scott Hibbert, Paul Chambers and Samuel Daidy.

The Anzac Champs will be contested by 34 karts. Four karts will be in the up-and-comers field.

Entry is free of charge for spectators. To find the track, go along Awapuni Road past the speedway and turn down Aerodrome Road.
