Eastland Kart Club season ends in hard, fast racing

Eastland Kart Club's season came to an end last Sunday.

The racing was hard and fast as drivers were after all the points they could get.

In the rookies' class, Pyper Irvine had two wins and a second placing in her best racing so far.

Nixen Gooch had a win and two seconds, while Savanna Prosser had three third placings.

Vinzent MacGregor had three wins in the young guns' class.

Brodie Gooch had two second placings and Tim De La Haye, one.

Third placings went to De La Haye (2) and Logan Irvine.

In the pro open class, Kyle Prosser won all three races. Harley Davis had two second placings and Lyn Lyle had a second and two thirds.

The Rotax class had three different winners — Roger Moss, Sean Gooch and Luca Vita.

Vita also had two second placings and Roger Moss, a second placing and a third.

In the KT heavy class, Fred Winterton had two more wins and a third placing.

Barry Irvine had a win and two seconds, Buck Rogers had a second and a third, and Dion Lund got a third placing.

The battle in the KT lights was close as so many drivers had a chance to take the season's points title.

Jake Callaghan took two wins and a second placing. Daniel Taylor and Robert De La Haye each had a second placing.

Luca Vita took the other win and a third placing, and Robert De La Haye collected two thirds.

Robyn De La Haye won all three races in the women's class. Sharyn Rogers had three seconds.

Hayley De La Haye raced with the women from the junior KT class, taking three thirds. Tessa Irvine had two fourth placings.

Next season will be the club's 10th year. Plans for celebrations are under way, details to follow.
