KARTING by Rockin’ Robin

FORMER district council gardener Lyn Lyle (pictured in Kart 15) doesn’t slow down to smell the roses when she’s racing . . . not that they have any at the Eastland Kart Club dirt track.

Lyle, 69, is in her first season of racing and will compete in the women’s class in the club championships tomorrow.

This is the event that drivers most want to win.

They will compete over three heats and every driver will get a front, a middle and a back start during the day.

After the three heats, the driver in each class with the most points is the winner of that class.

Run-offs will be held if drivers in the top three are equal on points.

Racing starts at 10am at the track in Aerodrome Road, heading out of town past the speedway. Spectators will be admitted free of charge.
