Udall said that first-drop Bruce Kerr (48 not out) and No.1 Scott Tallott (38 not out) were patient yet ruthless with the bat.
“Their partnership contributed to us achieving our goal of making the grand final,” Udall said.
“We look forward to the occasion and hope Matt can be part of that on March 15.”
The Bail-breakers posted 122-3 in 15 overs of the 1 v 2 clash. Left-handed opener Nic Hendrie made 61 and wicketkeeper-batsman Thom Berry, 30.
Hendrie did what he could to marshal a depleted line-up — eight players — in the absence of regular skipper Jak Rowe.
The Bail-breakers meet the third-seeded Eastland Broncos on Friday next week to decide who will advance to play the Stars.
The Bollywood Stars have a week off.
Now they can rest.
The Auto Tyre Eagles became the first team of four to be eliminated from the Walker Shield T15 Blast last night, with the Eastland Broncos winning the 3 v 4 sudden-death playoff game by five wickets.
Broncos captain Craig Christophers said catching was a key to restricting the Eagles to under 100.
“Deevon Gray held two, and ’keeper Tom Needham held a screamer off Sam Patterson to get their opener Travis Mitchell.
“Graham Hudson (51 off 35 balls) batted really well and Amit Vyas scored his first runs for us. Credit to the Eagles who fought to the end . . . special mention to Travis (43) for his batting and Tayla Hollis (2-19 off 2.3 overs) for her bowling.”
Christophers won the toss, opting to bowl: the Eagles made 94-5, first-drop Sam Keogh’s 18 being the only score in strong support of Mitchell’s well-constructed innings.
Mitchell, 17, impressed with his game-sense, placement and ability to innovate. He used the width of his crease well and took calculated risks.
Patterson (2-11 off three overs) and fellow seamer Arun Kurup (2-14 off two) bowled well, as did spearhead Hudson after a comical start in which he bowled three balls down leg side to the left-handed Matt Crampton before dismissing the Eagles captain, without a run on the board.
