Gisborne
FIVE seasons after winning his first Gisborne-East Coast Open singles title, Jamey Ferris added a second singles crown to his growing list of bowling achievements on Sunday.
Still a junior bowler and a rising star in the sport, Ferris was unbeaten throughout the two days of play on Gisborne
Bowling Club’s Rawiri Street greens.
In the final, he held off a determined finish from Kahutia club member and seasoned representative Vern Marshall to win 21-15.
In all, Gisborne provided four of the last eight to win through to Sunday’s climax. Kahu Kerekere, July Hoepo and veteran Robin Jefferson all joined Ferris in the quarterfinals.
