Week 7 of the GBA Men’s Club Basketball League tonight will see three fascinating games played at the YMCA and the John McFarlane Memorial Sports Centre.
At the Sports Centre, Gisborne Boys’ High School Red lead off against the Young and the Useless at 5.45pm, GBHS Black front upto Uawa at 6.45pm and SE Systems play Dragons at 7.45pm.
The YMCA will see Campion College and the High Flyers go at it at 5.45pm, followed by a 6.45pm rematch between league veterans City Lights and the Filthy Dozen. Lytton High School have the 7.45pm late game against East Coast.
The Filthy Dozen fired a warning shot when they beat Uawa 57-36 on opening night. Defending champions City Lights fell seven days later, a 47-38 win to the Dozen shaking the league to its foundations.
GBHS Red drew 54-all with East Coast last night — draws are practically unheard of in competitive basketball — and the Dragons were outrun 58-39 by GBHS Black.
The game finished with guard Holden Wilson, whose 18 point-haul included five three-point shots, completing a rare four-point play to sign off.
