Gisborne district showjumpers are in full swing competing around the North Island, despite the wet start to the season.

Larina Dolman and Kiwi Lansing have started the season with a roar.

After winning the Equestrian Sports New Zealand Harrison Lane Pro-Am series class at the Poverty Bay A&P Show, Dolman went on to win the Pro-Am class at the Hawke's Bay Premier A&P Show.

The following weekend was Equifest in Taupo, where she won the evening show Fixine for Equine 1.30-metre speed class in front of a sellout crowd.

The next day she was second in the Pro-Am class.

Isobel Bevitt and Fire Bandit were fifth in the pony 1.15-1.20m.

The following weekend Dolman went to the Waikato Showjumping Premier Show at the Takapoto Estate by Lake Karapiro where she won the Pro-Am class.

Last weekend at the North Island Jumping Championships in Pukekohe she came away with the title of North Island Speed Horse Champion.

Dolman's decision to relocate to Taupo after the Hawke's Bay A&P Show has paid dividends. The central location of Taupo means a lot less travel time to shows. She will return to Gisborne next month.

At the Hawke's Bay A&P Show, Sofie Gaddum and Centra were third in the Dunstan Horse Feeds Amateur class and Jessica McCann on Lay-Z-Lad was second in the pony 1.15m championship.

Isobel Bevitt and her ponies Mangatu Solar Eclipse and Brahan Willy Wonker were third and fourth in the Pony 1.05m Championship.

Sam Brooks and pony The Tontonator had wonderful results at the Central Hawke's Bay A&P Show in Waipukurau. After winning two pony 90cm events and gaining a third placing in 1m, the duo went on to win the 1m Liddy Memorial Trophy.

Georgie Coop and Barney Rubble were a close second.

Iyve Speirs and Ace were third in pony 1.10m.

Isobel Bevitt and Chai Latte picked up a sixth in the pony 1.10m and Mr Monochrome was fourth in the pony 1.15m.

Oliver Bevitt and horse Uptown Boy were sixth in the horse 1.10m.

Cindy Kershaw and Kiwi Vision were fourth in the Dunstan Horse Feeds Amateur Rider.

Caroline Coop and Zola won the jumping class for four-year-old horses.

Stella Couper and Fliss competed in the horse 80cm both days and did two lovely clear rounds.

At the Carterton A&P Show, Jessica McCann and Kabo Fortune Cookie were third in two pony 1.10m events.

At the Whanganui A&P Show, Ella Rouse on Let's Rumble Bumble was second in the 90cm and on MJK Isle of Skye was first in the pony 1m and second in the pony 1m.

Iyve Speirs and Ace were fourth in the pony 1m and first in the pony mini prix. At Waverley, they won the pony 1m and the pony 1.10m.

The following young riders have had success in the show hunter ring, competing around the North Island at Hawke's Bay A&P, Bay of Plenty Show Hunter, Central Hawke's Bay A&P, Whanganui A&P and Waverley A&P shows: Georgie Coop and Barney Rubble; Ella Rouse and her ponies MJK Isle of Skye and Let's Rumble Bumble; Zoe McNaught and ponies Nitro Pandora and Hocus Pocus Alakazame MJK; Molly McEwan and Galaxy Firefly; Kaycee Andrew and Mount Tulloch Fantail; and Iyve Speirs on Ace. They all had plenty of ribbons to bring home from winning and being placed in Category A,B and C and equitation classes.

At the Waverley A&P Show, Molly McEwan and Galaxy Firefly took the ribbon for reserve champion Cat B pony and Zoe McNaught and Nitro Pandora, the ribbon for reserve champion Cat C pony.

In the horse show hunter ring, Caroline Coop on Zola, Isobel Bevitt on Kilmac and Ella Rouse on MJK Durham had placings.

Cindy Kershaw on Kiwi Vision had wins and placings.

Lucy Hill and Mt Tullock Encore, Isobel Bevitt and Fire Bandit, and Jessica McCann and ponies Lay-Z-Lad and Kabo Fortune Cookie are giving the Country TV Pony Grand Prix classes a go. No ribbons yet but they are bound to come soon.
